♤ Lilac buds, IX–XI; dark green foliage with a reddish tinge; height 31–45cm; spread 46–60cm.
Sport on ‘Underwoodii‘; found by P. Bakhuyzen & Zonen (Boskoop, Netherlands); introduced by Bakhuyzen in 1979.
Name is a reference to the young growth in spring.
